E.O.T.C (Education Outside the Classroom)

Berhampore junior school teachers have been busy organising EOTC for your child(ren). We will need whānau support for all of these days so if you are a keen walker, and available to actively support a small group of students please get in touch with your child's teacher. We have (tentatively, bus dependent) organised for the following excursions to be held on these days:

Wednesday 1st March: Pepeha Walk - This walk starts at Quebec Street in Kingston and ends at Owhiro Bay Beach. There is a Paid Union Meeting on this day so we will be out and about from 9.00 - 12.00, back at school by 12.30pm for school to finish at 1.30pm so teachers can get to their meeting.

Thursday 2nd March: Ataturk Memorial Walk - This walk starts at Tarakena Bay at the bottom of the track that takes you to the Ataturk Memorial overlooking Breaker Bay. From here we will make our way down through the hills of Strathmore to the Monorgan Road play area. This is an all day trip.

Friday 3rd March: Wellington Botanical Gardens - We will spend the day exploring the different areas of the gardens in small groups. When we are not doing this, we will be in workshops (Construction in Aotearoa) with some of the educators at the Botanical Gardens investigating plants and their role in the survival of humans, with a focus on how Māori have used them specifically within the New Zealand context.
